All-City/All-Region After-School Practices: Wednesdays 4-5 p.m. after school starts
This is a chance for you to learn and work the details of the audition music for All-City and All-Region choirs. Auditions are October 13 - 14, and work on details is critical for success. This only gives us about 6 weeks (6 hours) to learn and perfect the music. Extra rehearsals times may be available depending on interest and your willingness to work hard for something really worth while. Let's all work together to have Workman Junior High represented in these prestigious choirs.

JH All-City Auditions, October 3 5:30 - 8:00 p.m., Nichols JH School
This is the only audition for JH All-City Honor Choir. If you have been attending our Wednesday JH Region practices,this is the audition you will need to enter and attend to be considered for membership in the JH All-City choir. You cannot make this honor choir without first going through this audition. The audition fee for JH All-City Choir is $8.00, due by September 23. You must be paid, or you will not be entered.

JH All-Region Auditions, October 14 5:30 - 8:00 p.m., October 15 7:00 a.m. - ? Smithfield MS, Birdville ISD
This is the only audition for JH All-Region Choir. If you have been attending our Wednesday JH Region practices, this is the audition you will need to enter and attend to be considered for membership in the JH All-Region choir. You cannot make this Region choir without first going through this audition. The audition fee for JH All-Region Choir is $8.00, due by September 23. You must be paid, or you will not be entered. All Sopranos will audition on Friday, October 14. All Altos, Tenors, and Basses will audition on Saturday, October 15. Transportation is available

Choir Cluster Concert: October 28, 7:30 p.m.
This is a really fun concert made up of all the choirs from Sam Houston High School and all the Junior High and Elementary choirs that feed into Sam Houston. There will be a mandatory rehearsal before the concert so we can all practice together before the audience comes in. This concert is held at Sam Houston High School in the auditorium. First we get to hear the sweet elementary children perform. Many of you have younger brothers and sisters who may be performing with us that night. Then we perform with the Carter and Hutcheson Junior High Choirs. Then the Sam Houston High School varsity choirs perform. Finally, all the choirs come together for two closing numbers. We end up with about 300 singers on stage - really cool! |
