| 2011 9/10 Results |

Eight members of the Sam Houston choir competed with hundreds of other choir students from all over the region on Saturday in the 9/10 All-Region Honor Choir auditions. All of them represented Sam Houston very well. We are especially proud of Jerome Johnson, who came in 2nd chair in Tenor 1. He will be performing in the Clinic/Concert on November 19. Of the rest of these students, Carla Benton placed 19th in Alto 2 making her first alternate for the choir, and Emma Cournoyer came in 10th in her room of alto 1, also giving her a first alternate position. They may also be permitted to perform with the 9/10 region choir. Other students who competed and represented Sam Houston well included: Megan Tatum - alto 1 chair 12, Ruth Rodriguez - soprano 1 chair 21, Shaniya Kellough - soprano 2 chair 25, Savannah Weathers - soprano 2 chair 29, and Marissa Sams alto 1 chair 32. Please congratulate these students and commend them for their many hours of hard work and dedication, and their fine representation of Sam Houston High school this past weekend.

Nine members of the Sam Houston choir competed on Saturday in the first round of All-State auditions. All of them represented Sam Houston very well, and we are especially proud of Noe Salmeron, who is continuing on to Round 2 on October 22. Of the rest of these students, six will also go on to compete on October 22 for the 9th & 10th grade Region Honor choir. They are Jarrod Carter, Emma Cournoyer, Clayton Ervin, Precious Kelly, Megan Tatum, and Savannah Weathers. Also representing Sam Houston were Devonne Griffin and Daylan Johnson. Please congratulate these students and commend them for their many hours of hard work and dedication, and their fine representation of Sam Houston High school this past weekend. |

Noe Salmeron of the Sam Houston choir competed on Saturday in the 2ndt round of All-State auditions. We are especially proud of Noe , who is made the Region 5 All-Region choir and is continuing on to Round 3 of All-State competition on November 18. It has been at least a decade since the Sam Houston Choir has been represented at All-Region Choir. He will be performing in the All-region Clinic/Concert the weekend of November 18 - 19. Please congratulate him students and commend him for his many hours of hard work and dedication, and his fine representation of Sam Houston High school this past weekend.
