Laura Pease is in her third year as choir director at Arlington's Sam Houston High School. She is a graduate of Texas Christian University's School of Music with a major in music education and minors in piano, oboe, and German. Laura has taught privately in the Dallas-Fort Worth and Tyler-Longview areas, has performed on oboe with the East Texas and Shreveport Symphonies, and continues to perform freelance on oboe throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. She taught band in Brownsville for five years, and was assistant choir director and accompanist at Mansfield High School for ten years. She comes to Sam Houston High School after five years as assistant director and accompanist for the Arlington High School choir program. She also performed for ten years as a member of the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary Oratorio Chorus. Laura's professional affiliations include TMEA, UEA, and the International Double Reed Society. Laura and her husband, Mark, head band director at Arlington's Lamar High School, have one son, Bryan, who lives and works in the north Dallas area. |
